The iWALK crutch works for most people, but not everyone. What can I do to help me adapt to the iWALK crutch? First, make sure that you meet the Qualifications for Use. How long will it take me to learn to walk on the iWALK crutch? Time to become proficient can vary considerably from person to person. Some people learn in 10-15 minutes, but others can take a day or two. This is normal. The most important things are to A) follow our video instructions, and B) Don't give up. I'm plus size. Why does that matter? The iWALK recruits the upper thigh for stability. Plus size people may have larger thighs, which reduces the adjustment range of the iWALK and introduces more unintentional movement. This reduces stability and makes it more difficult to adapt. Can I wear the iWALK crutch with short pants or a skirt? Yes, but you may experience chafe where bare skin kneels on the crutch. Much like wearing a sock reduces chafe from a shoe, simply place a piece of fabric, such as a hand towel, between the bare skin and the kneeling platform to prevent chafe. Important information Indications : Indicated for most lower limb, non-weight bearing injuries, including foot and ankle fractures, Achilles ruptures, bunion surgery, etc. for people who meet the Qualifications for Use.. In addition to typical lower leg non-weight bearing injuries, iWALK crutch is also used by below knee amputees.
