Title: Electric Demolition Jackhammer

Overview:

Take on tough concrete, brick, stone, tile-bed, and masonry removal with a heavy-duty electric demolition jackhammer. This powerful breaker is a practical choice for homeowners, renovators, and tradespeople who need controlled demolition without purchasing a tool they may only use once. Ideal for a basement renovation, fence-post footing removal, patio teardown, or repair work around Kanata. This electric jackhammer rental in Kanata helps break up hard material efficiently for projects across Kanata, Stittsville, and Ottawa’s west end.

What’s Included:

  • Electric demolition jackhammer
  • Point chisel for concentrated breaking
  • Flat chisel for surface removal
  • Power cord and carrying case, where supplied
  • Basic operating guidance

Key Features:

  • High-impact hammer action for concrete and masonry
  • Comfortable side handle for two-hand control
  • Chisel-ready chuck for fast bit changes
  • Electric power: no fuel mixing or exhaust fumes
  • Point chisel targets cracks and thick slabs
  • Flat chisel helps lift tile, mortar, and edges

Smart Details:

Start at an exposed edge or existing crack instead of the centre of a slab. Let the tool’s weight and hammer action work; forcing it usually slows progress and tires the operator.

Important Notes:

Wear safety glasses, hearing protection, gloves, sturdy boots, and a dust mask. Confirm there are no buried utilities, pipes, or electrical lines before breaking concrete. Use a grounded outlet and keep the cord clear of the chisel.

Why Rent This in Kanata:

Kanata spring and summer renovation season is ideal for repairing walkways, removing old patio bases, and tackling landscaping projects. Renting gives you professional-grade breaking power for a focused job while avoiding storage, maintenance, and the cost of ownership.

Tips & Instructions to Use

Getting Started

Inspect the cord, plug, chuck, and chisel before use. Choose the point chisel for breaking concrete or the flat chisel for lifting mortar and surface material. Lock the chisel fully into the chuck, plug into a grounded outlet, and hold both handles firmly.

Using the Item

  1. Put on eye, hearing, hand, foot, and dust protection.
  2. Set the chisel against an edge, crack, or small target area.
  3. Start the tool and apply light downward pressure; do not force it.
  4. Work in short sections and reposition often to prevent binding.
  5. Keep the cord behind you and away from the work area.

Pro Tips from the Owner

  • For a Kanata concrete-removal job, score or expose slab edges first for faster results.
  • Take short breaks; vibration and dust build up quickly.
  • Use a GFCI-protected outlet outdoors or in damp areas.

After Use

Switch off, unplug, let the tool cool, brush off dust, and return every chisel and accessory to its case. Report any issue promptly.

Pickup and dropoff were very straightforward. It was actually a different carpet cleaner from the one in the picture (I think Bissell?) but worked very well and I think may actually have been a better product. Highly recommended!

Environmental Impact

Renting isn't just profitable — it's sustainable.

  • Avoids the materials used to make one new breaker: roughly 35–55 lb of metal, plastic, and electronics.
  • Can prevent one bulky power tool from becoming e-waste or landfill clutter after a single project.
  • Sharing one tool among 10 renters can reduce the need for up to 9 additional tools to be manufactured.
  • Less manufacturing means less energy used for mining, shipping, packaging, and store delivery.
